Paul M. Mitchell

WORCESTER-Paul M. Mitchell, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 18.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Bette (Connole) Mitchell; a daughter, Betteanne Kuhnen and her husband Walter Kuhnen, M.D. of Warren, PA; a son, Paul M. Mitchell, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth (Perriello) Mitchell of Worcester; three grandchildren, Brendon Mitchell and his wife Brigette (Rouilliard) Mitchell of Worcester, Brittany (Mitchell) Barber and her husband Craig Barber of Boston and Marissa M. Kuhnen, D.M.D of Flagstaff, AZ and his great granddaughter, Madelynn Mitchell. His brother, Alex and his sister, Irene Dostoler predeceased him.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Worcester the son of Michael and Stella (Kapich) Mitchell and attended Commerce High School. He achieved all City honors in baseball and football. He also excelled in baseball and football at Worcester Academy where he graduated in 1942. Mr. Mitchell was a WW II Army veteran where he served as an artillery observer at Anzio Beach and Italy. After an Honorable discharge from the Army, Paul joined the family business, Mitchell & Son Window Cleaning where he served in multiple capacities before retiring in 2000.

Paul loved his family especially his many nieces and nephews, sports, music and the outdoors. He will be sorely missed by his devoted relatives.

During his last days, Paul received special comfort from his healthcare team, Drs. K. O'Grady and C. Mills, nurses, Judy Donohue and Brie Mitchell and his "bodyguard", Allen.

Paul's funeral will be on Monday, November 22 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John's Church, 40 Temple St. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, November 21 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester, MA 01604. www.callahanfay.com.
