Worcester-Paul Dennis Rantala, 68, of Worcester died Thursday, April 30, 2020.

He was born in Worcester, son of Paul S. and Sylvia (Niemi) Rantala, graduated from Burncoat Senior High School and Nichols College where he graduated magna cum laude. Paul worked in Information Technology management for several companies throughout his career.

Paul enjoyed music and was an accomplished guitar and piano player. In his younger years, Paul played in local bands such as New Bay Colony and The Coyotes. He was very proud of his Finnish Heritage and enjoyed spending time and swimming at Demon Pond at the Finnish Heritage Society Sovittaja Park. Paul also enjoyed skiing and was a loving and devoted family man. Family gatherings were very important to Paul and always looked forward to Christy's cooking.

Paul will be dearly missed by his wife of 17 years, Jane P. (Hildreth) Rantala, whom he dated throughout college and later reconnected with. He also leaves a step-daughter Christine McKeon of Worcester and her fiancé Ashton Seto, two children from a previous marriage, two sisters, Debra Rantala and Diane Wood and her husband Robert, his cousin Ann Gywther and her husband John, and was a loving grandpa to Ariel McKeon and Jasmine McKeon-Seto.
All services for Paul will be private.
