Penny’s life was filled with many lifelong friends, including Inge, Peggy, and her card-playing friends. Her husband, Michael Jackson and sister, Judith Porter predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of William J. and Anna H. (Yenavich) Foley and grew up on Vernon Hill. She was a graduate of the High School of Commerce and lived in Worcester her whole life. She worked for many years in the cafeterias of South High School and Doherty Memorial High School. She was a prolific seamstress, and enjoyed bowling, morning walks, playing cards, bingo, and scratch tickets. She also enjoyed sports and was a Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots fan, and loved cheering on her grandchildren from the sideline. Her greatest joy in life was shopping, and she could always find the best bargains.
The Jackson family would like to thank the staff at Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center Birch Wing and Brookhaven Hospice, as well as the home healthcare professionals who all took such great care of Penny.
