Peggy J. O'Donnell

WORCESTER- Peggy J. O'Donnell, 77, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Worcester on December 16, 1942 the daughter of the late Charles O'Donnell and Frances Ollis. For many years Peggy worked as a Medical Technologist and supervisor of Blood Bank at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge. Prior to that she worked at Saint Vincent Hospital and Memorial Hospital in Worcester. Peggy held a Bachelor degree in Science from Springfield College, a Liberal Arts degree from Worcester Junior College and a Medical Technologist degree from American Society of Clinical Pathologists and Saint Vincent Hospital School of Medical Technology.

In her younger years, she enjoyed spending the summers at her family home on the beach in Charlestown, Rhode Island. She also loved to visit Newport, RI and New Smyrna Beach, FL. She enjoyed dancing, visiting Foxwoods to try her luck at blackjack and playing cards with family and friends. She loved animals and was surrounded by dogs and cats her entire life. In her later years, she enjoyed watching Ancient Aliens on television and anything on HGTV.

She leaves behind her son, John O'Donnell and his wife, Fabiola of Worcester; her grandchildren, Vanessa and Alexandra O'Donnell, her nieces Sue and Megan O'Donnell, her nephew Billy O'Donnell, her friend and companion Laurie Munier as well as extended family members and friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Peggy's life on Saturday June 13th from 1pm-3pm at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston.. In Lieu of Flowers, please send donations to the Worcester Animal Rescue League.
