WORCESTER – Perfecta V. Colon-Padilla, 89, died peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2018 with her loving family by her bedside. She was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Juan Padilla and Justina Rivera. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincente Colon, who died in 1998.
Perfecta came to the the mainland from Puerto Rico with her family in the 1960's, first settling in New York City and then finally settling Worcester in 1974. She was devoted to her children and their families, always making home a warm and welcoming place. She was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Parish in Worcester.
Perfecta will be forever loved and missed by her nine children, Aida L. Colon, Jesus A. Colon, Angel M. Colon, Maria D. Colon-Flores, Jorge A. Colon, Luis F. Colon, Miguel A. Colon, Carmello Colon and Iris H. Colon, as well as her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather to remember and celebrate Perfecta's long life at her visiting hours on Monday, December 10th from 4-7 p.m. at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 11th from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
