WORCESTER-Philip Paul Brunelle, 93, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in North Brookfield on May 4, 1930, a son of Alfred J. and Anna E. (Beinvous) Brunelle and was one of 13 children. Philip attended local schools and following his graduation from North Brookfield High School he enlisted in the United States Navy to proudly serve his country. Serving with the United States Naval Construction Battalions, better known as the Navy Seabees, Phil was stationed in the Philippines and enjoyed yearly reunions with fellow Seabees.
An avid golfer he enjoyed many weekly rounds with friends in several area courses including Hillcrest Country Club and Packachoag Golf Course. He spent much time tending to his yard, caring for his pool, and planting in his garden and when he wanted to unwind you could find Phil at a casino blackjack table. A man of deep catholic faith he was a longtime parishioner of St. John’s Church and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council #5481.
Phil was predeceased by his wife, Patricia M. (Laverty) Brunelle in 2018. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Piascik and Paula M. Jacevicius and her husband, Allen. He leaves his six beautiful grandchildren: Elizabeth Jacevicius, Jake Jacevicius, Meaghan Piascik and her fiancé, Daniel Stavens, Christopher Piascik, Bridget Piascik and her fiancé, Chris Muniz and Aidan Piascik. He leaves two beloved great grandchildren, CJ and James Muniz. He also leaves a brother, Ernest Brunelle and his wife Marilyn, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
