WORCESTER-Philip T. Karpowich, 71, of Worcester passed away on Friday, February 21 at St. Vincent Hospital after a long battle with cancer with family by his side.
Phil was born in Worcester, son of Francis and Vincenta (Zukowski) Karpowich and graduated from Burncoat High School. Phil worked as a machinist for 45 years at O.S. Walker, before retiring. He enjoyed bowling, playing darts, summer trips to Hampton Beach, and many visits to Foxwoods. Phil especially loved his family and always put them first in his world and in his heart. His infectious laugh and sense of humor will be greatly remembered.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Judi S. (Gardner) Karpowich; two daughters, Tina and her husband, Ron Miller of Worcester and Wendy Karpowich of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Megan and her husband, Ryan Winslow, Nathan, Philip and Justin Karpowich, Kolby, Kiley and Bryce Miller; three great-grandchildren, Jaikob, Jaelynn, and Julianna Winslow; two sisters, Helen Perron and Judith Karpowich and nieces and nephews. A brother, Francis Karpowich predeceased him.
Visiting Hours are Thursday, February 27 from 4 to 7pm with a Life Celebration Service at 6:45pm in Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society atwww.cancer.org
