Phoebe G. (Allen) Hollis, 91, of West Boylston died Saturday, May 2 in the Beaumont Nursing Center in Westborough.
Her husband, Stanley M. Hollis, Jr. died in 1987. She leaves three sons, David M. and his wife Diane Hollis of Holden, Richard B. and his wife Patricia Hollis of Millbury and Peter A. and his wife Linda Hollis of Worcester; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A son, Stanley M. Hollis, III and two brothers, Mervyn Allen and Wesley Allen predeceased her. She was born in Wellesley, daughter of George and Lena (White) Allen and graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music.
Phoebe was a reading teacher for various schools, for many years. She ended her career in the Shrewsbury and Framingham School systems. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of West Boylston. She enjoyed playing the piano and was an avid reader.
A Visiting Hour will be held Saturday , May 9, from 10 to 11 AM with a Memorial Service at 11 AM in FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
