Piro N. Spiro

WEST BOYLSTON-Piro N. Spiro, 94, died Monday, July 20, 2015 in Shrewsbury Nursing Center.

He leaves his wife, Elizabeth A. (Costa) Spiro; three children, Nicholas Spiro and his wife, Patricia Swenson of Green Valley, AZ; Susan and her husband, Kevin DeCaire of North Grafton and Robert and his wife, Lisa Spiro of Emmaus, PA; two grandchildren, Christopher and Samantha Spiro; many nieces and nephews, among them, Pamela Bergstrom. His brother, Christopher Spiro, a half brother, Theodore Paluk and a half sister, Ann Dimitri predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Nicholas and Xanthepe (Keleshi) Spiro and graduated from Commerce High School.

Piro worked in the sales and engineering department at Lodding Engineer Company, Rice Barton Company and Flame Tech, before retiring. He was a member of Saint Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and the Boylston Lodge of Masons in West Boylston. He was active in the Green Cross Safety Organization and member and past president of the American Albanian National Organization.

A Visiting Hour will be held Friday, July 24 from 10 to 11 AM in Saint Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the church. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church. Arrangements are in the care of FAY BROTHERS Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street.
