Ralph C. Gustafson, 91, formerly of 17 Ramshorn Rd. Sutton and Auburn died Friday, March 16 in the Masonic Home, Charlton. His wife of 43 years, Thelma L. (Stockhaus) Gustafson died in 1989. He leaves five children, Ralph A. Gustafson of Zanesville, OH; Karl D. Gustafson of Phoneix, AZ; Louise C. Bonnette of Holland; Ellen M. and her husband Dennis Rearick of Wales and Lisa M. Audette and her financee David Bousquet of Leicester; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A brother, Harold Gustafson and three sisters, Tyra Lyons, Astrid Engstrom and Ellen O'Leary predeceased him. He was born in Worcester son of John and Agnes Bertha (Carlson) Gustafson and attended Commerce High School. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the 711th Tank Battalion and saw action in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater.
Ralph worked for Norton Company for 37 years before retiring. He was a member of Hadwen Park Congregational Church, a 32nd degree mason with the Joel F. Prouty Lodge of Masons in Auburn and enjoyed golfing and gardening.
The funeral will be held Tuesday,March 20 at 11 am in Lindquist Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler St. Worcester. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Visiting Hours, are Monday, March 19, from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Overlook Hospice 88 Masonic Home Road Charlton, MA 01507.
