Worcester- Ramonita Caez-Hernandez, 63, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on September 8, 1957, a daughter of Luz Maria Hernandez Aponte and Pascual Caez Pérez. She attended Escuela Intermedia Luis Ramos González Middle School in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She began working at Topeka in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and met her husband, Jose L. Fernández at a Tobacco Company where he was her supervisor. The two moved to Worcester in 1984 where they settled and raised their family. In later years, Ramonita worked for Filene's Basement and Parker Metal in Worcester. She loved home interior, baking, arts and craft spending time with family.
Her favorite sayings were "MIRA A VER" and "Y LLEGUE Y QUE?". She disliked a messy unorganized home and procrasting. She loved the fall & winter because of the colors the seasons bring. She was a very positive person, happy and always laughing. She seemed very serious at times but was the most sensitive, caring soul. She loved her family and raised her first grandson and took care of the other three for sometime as well. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in August 2020 after having a very deep and close encounter and accepted his calling in her life.
She leaves many behind that love her and will miss her deeply including her daughter, Sheila Marie Fernandez; a brother, Juan Caez; a sister, Luz N. Caez; four grandchildren Joshua E. Vazquez, James B. Rohelia Jr., Haydee L. Fernández, Shanellys Y. Fernández. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. Ramonita was predeceased by her loving husband, Jose Luis Fernández and two brothers and a sister, Miguel Fontanez Hernández, Julio Caez Hernández and Ana I Caez Hernández.
Family and friends are welcomed to celebrate Ramonita's life with visiting hours on Thursday, April 15th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester and again on Friday, April 16th from 10:00am until 11:00am with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester.
