HOLDEN, MA / ORMOND BEACH, FL- Richard B Libuda, 76, passed away peacefully in his home on January 22, 2017.
He was born and raised in Worcester on April 4, 1940 the son of the late Boleslaw and Rozalia (Michalska) Libuda. He graduated from St. Mary's High School. Mr. Libuda worked for many years in sales before founding his own company, Electro Drive Systems in 1988. He forged many life long friendships throughout his career. He resided in Holden before moving to Ormond Beach, Florida where he retired in 2006.
He is survived by his children, Deborah A. Libuda of Newbury and Jeffrey S. Libuda of Worcester; four grandchildren Jason Libuda, Joshua Libuda, Kayla Libuda and Benjamin Libuda and two great grandchildren, his sister, Lucy Rybacki and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Libuda is predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Ziemba) Libuda; two children, Richard M. Libuda and Lisa M. Keane.
Richard lived an active life outdoors and embraced all seasons. His camp in Rangeley, Maine allowed him to spend his winters snowmobiling and summers boating on the lake, riding his ATV's, hiking with his family, and relaxing by the fire. He enjoyed working in his woodshop, riding his motorcycle, and a bottle of fine wine!
Often the life of the party, singing with his big baritone voice and stomping out Polish Polkas. He loved getting together with all his friends and family for elaborate meals or watching his favorite New England sports teams on television.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Janunary 31st from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 1st at 10:00am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, 34 Ward Street Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the HospiceCare at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, 301 Memorial Medical Pkwy, Daytona Beach, FL 32117
