Richard C. Milley 75, of 14 Upland Ave. died Sunday, Aug. 1, in UMass Memorial Medical Center-Lake Ave.Campus.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Lillian L. (Lindgren) Milley, two sons, John R. and his wife, Debbie Milley of Worcester and Gary S. Milley of Oakham; three daughters, Jane L. and her husband Paul Strandring of Auburn, Carol A. and her husband Thomas Armstrong of Waltham and Nancy L. Milley of Shrewsbury; a sister, June Paone of Watertown; six grandchildren, Dameon and Elizabeth Esposito, Malinda and Anthony Laudate and Leanne and Stephen Armstrong; six great-grandchildren, Vincent, Victoria, Varissa, Paris, Anthony and Leanna; nieces and nephews. A brother, Jack Milley and Barbara Garside both predeceased him. He was born in Arlington, son of John and Louise (Ernst) Milley and graduated from Arlington High School. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
Richard was an instrument service technician for Wyman Gordon Company in Worcester for 47 years, retiring several years ago. He was a member of the Matthew John Whittall Lodge A.F. & A.M., Disabled American Veterans Chapter %234, Vincent Picard American Legion Post, Past President and member of the Shrewsbury Sportsman's Club and an honorary member of the United Steelworkers of America and he was a former member of the Fairlawn Church. He also loved summering on Cape Cod with his wife and family and was an avid sportsman.
The Funeral will be held Thursday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. in LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. Calling Hours are Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations may be made to Our Danny Fund, 365 Plantation St. Worcester 01605.
