Richard H. Peterson

Richard H. Peterson, Sr., 89, died Wednesday, June 11th at the Autumn Village Nursing Home in Worcester, MA. He had been a resident there for three and a half years.

He was born in Wakefield, MA, son of August and Theresa (Hendrickson) Peterson. He had a sister, Ruth and a brother, Robert, both deceased. He attended and graduated from Wentworth Institute before entering the Navy where he stayed for four years during WWII. After the war, he married Louise (Hadlock) Peterson and went to work at the Chas T. Main Company in Boston where he remained until his retirement. His first wife, Louise died in 1989 after a 42-year marriage. He leaves three children, Vicky Peterson, Richard Peterson Jr., and Bradford Peterson, as well as a grandson, Benjamin Peterson.

During the 1990's, Richard traveled extensively with his second wife, Gudrun Kahler who died in 2001. They maintained two homes; one in Florida and one in Denmark. After Gudrun's death, he returned to the U. S. to live near his daughter.
