BOYLSTON-Richard A. "Dick" Pierce, 79, of Boylston passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3 after a long battle with dementia.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 57 years, Norma J. (Olson) Pierce. He leaves a son, Todd Pierce and his wife, Mary of Clinton; a daughter, Kim Pierce and her partner, Joe Davis of Marlborough; a sister, Ann Marie Nickerson of Wells, ME; a brother, Paul Keisling and his wife, Robin of Boylston; his grandchildren, Benjamin Pierce, Joseph Pierce, his wife Ashley, Patrick Pierce and Alysha Doughty; his great-grandchildren, Peyton, Jackson and Brooklynn; his "best dog in the world", Brady and several nieces and nephews. His brother, Ronald Pierce, predeceased him. He was born in Clinton, son of Charles and Stella (Pierce) Keisling. Dick was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was proud of his service.
Dick was a welder and worked for Jamesbury Corporation in Worcester and Tuthill Corporation in Millbury.
Dick enjoyed his home, working outside in his yard, and taking care of his many flower gardens. He was so proud of the garage that he and his son built together, and the times spent working on his Chevy Novas with his son and grandsons. He also enjoyed his yearly vacations to Maine and the many years spent at his summer cottage on Rocky Pond with his wife and family. These times were so very special to him. When his daughter came back home to live with him three years ago, his life was complete. His family was always the most important thing in his life.
At Dick's request funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Boylston Fire and Ambulance Fund, c/o the Boylston Fire Dept., 599 Main St., Boylston, 01505.
