PAXTON-Richard E. Shaw passed away on Monday, August 16 peacefully in his home.
His wife of 40 years, Aline S. (Kazarian) Shaw passed away in 2009. He leaves his sister-in-law, Monique A. (Kazarian) Parnagian and her husband Leo of Paxton and his beloved niece, Aline E. Parnagian of Paxton. A sister, Ann Bacon, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Everett W. and Edna M. (Belair) Shaw and graduated from Commerce High School.
Rick and his wife, Aline established Coiffure Continental, a hair salon on Highland Street in Worcester. He was a hairstylist for many years and worked with both his wife and sister-in-law. The very popular salon was in business for many years. Rick and Aline also owned and operated Jim Dandy Laundromat.
In 1989, Rick and Aline, along with her family established Boomers Sub and Deli at the same site where Coiffure Continental was located on Highland Street. The family owned the very successful businesses for many years.
Rick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing a good round of golf and also enjoyed a good cigar and playing backgammon with his brother in law, Leo. He loved summering with Aline in Maine and on Cape Cod.
A Private Funeral will be held at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
