Richard W. Stevens, 67, of 115 Endicott St. died Thursday, June 16, in the Christopher House, after a short battle with cancer.
He leaves his brother, Victor B. Stevens, Jr. of Worcester; an aunt and many cousins. He was born in Worcester, son of Victor B. and Statia R. (Michalak) Stevens and graduated from St. John's High School. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
Richard was a clerk for the Worcester County Sheriff's Department for several years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the Disabled American Veterans District %235, and the UAW Local %234069.
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 18, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Saturday, June 18 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester,01610.
