Richard C. Swenson

SUTTON-Richard C. Swenson, 69, died Friday at Sunbridge Nursing Home, Oxford.

He leaves a son, Steven Swenson of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter, Dawinda Swenson of Arizona; five sisters, Gail Sargent of Sutton with whom he lived with, Ruth Chaput, Claire Hisoire and May-Britt Quinn all of Worcester and Lorna Chaput of Oxford, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was born in Worcester the son of Ernest P. and Anna (Nordstrom) Swenson. Richard worked for Faulkner Tree Service before retiring. Richard was a Navy veteran serving in Korea. He was a professional boxer fighting under the name "Bob Murphy" and then taught boxing for many years.

The funeral will be Monday, May 14 at 10:00 AM at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester. Interment will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. Visiting hours will be Sunday, May 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
