WORCESTER-Richard D. Tuson, 86, died after a brief illness on December 21, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis X. and Hazel (Wakefield) Tuson and attended from Commerce High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War as a Corporal in the U.S. Air Force.
Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley A. (DeLorge) Tuson, and their five children; Richard D. Tuson and his wife Rose of Plymouth, Sandra A. Sonier of Webster, David M. Tuson and Thomas J. Tuson, both of Worcester and Kristi M. McGrath of Auburn, eight grandchildren, Sarah Sullivan and her husband Patrick, Ryan Tuson, Chelsey Tuson, Colin Levicki, Alexis Sonier, Chase Levicki, Kaitlyn Tuson, and Joshua Tuson and two great grandchildren, Greyson and Violette Sullivan. He also leaves four brothers, Gary Tuson of FL, Paul of Auburn and Joseph and William both of Worcester, many nephews and nieces. Richard was predeceased by a brother Francis Tuson and a sister, Ann Alexander.
He worked for the City of Worcester for many years before retiring and the College of the Holy Cross during his retirement years. Richard also drove for Yellow Cab throughout the years. He was an avid golfer and a fan of the New England Patriots. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Visiting Hours are Tuesday, December 28th from 3 – 6pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 29th with a Mass at 10am at St. Peter's Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
