Rita T. Miskell

Rita T. (Kirdulis) Miskell, 89, of Worcester died Saturday, October 20 at St. Vincents Hospital after an illness.

Rita leaves her son, Dennis L. Irish and his wife Maureen A.; two grandchildren, Matthew C. Irish and his wife Anne and Kathleen M. Wanat and her husband Joseph and five great-grandchildren, all of Worcester. She also leaves three sisters; Anne C. Glins and her husband Richard of Sarasota, FL., Leona Izer of Nokomis, FL. and her devoted sister Catherine Hutchinson of Leicester. Rita was pre-deceased by her husbands, Frank L. Irish and Walter M. Miskell and her siblings, Cecilia, Mary and Stanley Kirdulis and Elizabeth "Betty" Studley.

Born in Worcester she was the daughter of Stanley J. and Josephine (Vusnerich) Kirdulis. During WW II she worked at the Reed & Prince Company and then for many years was an inspector at the former Brown Shoe Company before retiring to Florida in the late-1970's. She returned to Worcester in 2003 to be with her beloved great-grandchildren.

Rita has made an anatomical gift to the University of Massachusetts Medical School. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of her family, internment will follow at a later date. Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Worcester is assisting the family.
