WORCESTER
Robert V. Brodeur, 83, of Worcester died Tuesday, Sept. 12, in the Jewish Healthcare Center.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Kathleen M. "Tootie" (O'Coin) Brodeur; three sons, Robert V. Brodeur, Jr. of Sutton, William J. Brodeur of Oxford and James M. Brodeur of Worcester; two daughters, Marie K. Sweet of Worcester and Elizabeth A. Vosburgh of Oxford; a sister, Irene Mills of Auburn; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was born in No. Grafton, son of Valmore J. and M. Gertie (Ruby) Brodeur and graduated from Commerce High School and was an Army Veteran of WWII.
Bob was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Worcester for 33 years. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, the Knights of Columbus, Alhambra Council %2388, the 4th Degree Bishop O'Reilly Assembly, the Main South American Legion Post %23341, China, Burma and India Veterans Assoc. and the Auburn Sportsman's Club and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
The funeral will be held Friday, Sept., 15, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10AM in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Thursday, Sept.14, from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home.
