Robert P. Carrigan 68, of 199 Leicester St. died Thursday (May 8) at Saint Vincent Hospital, at Worcester Medical Center, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Mary T. (Dalton) Carrigan, three daughters, Linda M. Fanning of Worcester, Colleen A. Quinn of Eastham and Paula J. Carrigan-Kelleher of Oxford; a brother, James Carrigan of Worcester; four sisters, Patricia Mann of Charlton, Jeanne Ellis, Frances Carrigan, and Cynthia Russell, all of Worcester; five grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Paul J. and Helen A. (Seymour) Carrigan. He graduated from Commerce High School.
He owned and operated R.P. Carrigan Partition Company for many years before retiring several years ago.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, the Knights of Columbus Oxford Council %234241 and the 4th Degree Bishop O'Reilly Assembly. He was avid gardener, golfer and enjoyed playing pitch.
A Funeral will be held Saturday (May 10) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. (www.faybrothers.com) Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 600 Cambridge St. Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling Hours are Friday (May 9) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 50 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
