WORCESTER-Robert R. Comeau, Sr, 70, of Worcester passed away Monday, August 3 at his home.
He leaves his fiancé and best friend of 45 years, Beverly A. Chauncey and her sons, John and Ray Garrahie and five grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Debbra Roy of Worcester and 25 nieces and nephews and was predeceased by six siblings, Edward, Jack, Joseph, Paul, Beverly Monindo and Mary DesRosiers. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Irene C. (Smith) and Paul J. Comeau.
Bob, as he was known to family and friends, worked for several years in building maintenance before retiring and was largely considered a jack of all trades as he was determined that he could fix just about anything. He spent some time working in construction, was a professional painter and even owned a fleet of ice cream trucks later in life.
Bob always thought of others first and rarely asked for favors himself and especially loved dogs and rescued several from local shelters and off the street. With Bev, he was a kind and thoughtful partner, helping her through some tough times but truly relished celebrating, remembering and lingering on the good times. At home he was always moving, looking to fix something around the house and loved to cook and entertain friends who stopped by for a visit. He enjoyed going to flea markets, loved motorcycles and deep sea fishing and chatting with his friends at Helen's Bakery. He truly loved talking with people and made new friends wherever life took him.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, August 7 at 1 pm in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. Arrangements in the care of Lindquist Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler Street, Worcester
