Robert J.
Corcoran
November 29, 1957 – May 30, 2026
Downstairs Restaurant
5:00 - 7:00 pm (Eastern time)
Robert J. Corcoran, 68, of West Boylston passed away on May 30, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital after a courageous battle with illness. Despite the challenges he faced, Bob met each day with determination.
Born on November 29, 1957, in Waltham Bob was the son of the late Lorraine (Shea) Mulkerrins and Robert J. Corcoran. He spent much of his life dedicated to hard work and craftsmanship. An accomplished auto body painter and technician, he worked in the automotive industry for many years before retiring from Herb Chambers.
While Bob took great pride in his automotive career, his true passion was tattooing. A pioneer in the industry, he began freelancing in the early days of modern tattooing and became widely respected for his talent, professionalism, and commitment to safety. Long before strict industry standards became commonplace, Bob championed proper sterilization practices and cleanliness, helping establish many of the safety protocols that tattoo artists continue to follow today. His skill, creativity, and dedication earned him the admiration of clients and fellow artists alike.
Beyond his work, Bob loved listening to music and attending rock and blues concerts, among his favorite being Dio. He also enjoyed camping and traveling to Vermont creating fond memories for his family to treasure.
Bob's greatest joy, however, was his family. He met the love of his life, Marcia, beginning a relationship that would span more than four decades of marriage. In his younger years, he was known for his sense of humor and playful pranks, often keeping his wife laughing with his mischievous antics. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion, raising two children and making their home in West Boylston.
He leaves many behind that will miss him dearly including his beloved wife, Marcia E. (Price) Corcoran; his children Bob Corcoran Jr and Brianna Corcoran also of West Boylston. Bob was predeceased by his parents.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at the Downstairs Restaurant, 55 Douglas Pike Smithfield, RI 02917. The celebration will be on 6/19/26 from 5pm to 7pm. All are welcomed, casual dress. Following the celebration there will be karaoke for those who want to stay.
