Robert Allen Fay

March 15, 1949 — August 18, 2019

WORCESTER- Robert A. Fay, 70, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2019.

He was born in Sudbury, Massachusetts on March 15, 1949 a son of the late Arthur Eliphalet Fay and Helen Louise (Eaton) Fay. He was raised in Sudbury before he and his family moved to Florida. Robert graduated high school and went on to attend the first communication school in the United States, National Radio Institute. He later enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. Robert also worked as a police officer for the Town of Wayland during his twenties.

Bob possessed a true entrepreneurial spirit. For many years, he worked as a DJ in local bars and clubs and went on to found his own company Sound Investment a DJ rental service agency. He was also the owner operator of Police Emergency Radio Services where he sold radios and components to local police departments. Bob was a brilliant man, a Jack of all trades. He had the ability to design, build, and, fix almost anything. He spent the majority of his career working as a communications engineer and Chief Technologies Officer for companies in and out of Massachusetts. Designing and building extensive, intricate projects for major companies all over the United States.

In the rare spare time he had, Bob loved vacationing all over with his wife and friends and was always up for exciting/borderline dangerous excursions.
Above all Robert cherished time spent with his loving family and all of the wonderful memories they made throughout the years.

He had a very close family and will be eternally loved and missed by his wife, Karen A. (Finne) Fay; his adoring children, Lianne Katherine Renaud and her husband, Scott, Alyssa Marie Fay and Eric Robert Fay; his beloved grandson, Cole Robert Renaud; a sister, Lynne Ann Shrader; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and many friends.

He was completely devoted to his wife, never saying no to her or letting her want for anything. He loved spending his mornings with Cole, eating their breakfasts together, his chats with Lianne in the morning before work. He and Eric had an extremely close bond, their hugs would warm the whole room. He would watch Game of Thrones with Eric and Karen religiously every week. He and Alyssa shared a lot in common, especially brains and stubbornness, but their love for one another was unconditional. He always knew how to fix any of their problems, even if sometimes it needed to be with tough love. The world has lost a good, good man.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Sunday, August 25th from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, August 26th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at All Faith's Cemetery.
