WORCESTER: Robert W. Lapinsky, Sr., 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home.

Born in Worcester to Peter and Dorothy (Braman) Lapinsky, Bob (as he was known to his family & friends) was brought up in Millbury and attended Millbury High School, Class of 1965,  before settling in Worcester. For decades, he worked for Quality Installation Co. as an estimator and salesman until his passing. In all aspects of his life, Bob demonstrated dedication and commitment to his career and loved ones rarely seen in this day and age. Loving marriage of 51 years, raising of two successful children who loved him, and the abject respect of anyone who encountered him.
Bob’s sense of responsibility to community extended beyond his professional life as well. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and Air National Guards, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. An active member of St. Stephen’s Church, he selflessly served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lecturer for decades. He achieved the 3rd degree as a Knight of Columbus. He was a valued member of the American Legion Post 365 in Northbridge. Additionally, Bob umpired for 28 years in the USSSA, earning himself a spot in their National Hall of Fame as an Umpire.
In his leisure time, Bob found joy in watching war documentaries and his beloved Patriots games in the company of his Wife’s adored shelties. He had an enormous capacity for charm and would offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Bob loved taking photos and discussing photography; bowling with friends and family; exploring travel adventures or taking long drives. It was widely known that he steered clear of beach sand at all costs.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Moore) Lapinsky on July 5, 2023. He is survived by his loving son Robert Lapinsky, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Worcester and daughter, Julie Lapinsky of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He also leaves behind a cherished grandson, Robert W. Lapinsky, III, as well as several extended family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours on Thursday, March 21 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. The funeral will be held on Friday, March 22 with a Mass at 10:00 AM ( please go directly to church) at St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester.
