WORCESTER-Robert D. Sullivan, Sr., 86, of Green Hill Towers died Saturday at Autumn Village Nursing Home. His wife, Phyllis M. (Nazenic) Sullivan died in 1983. He is survived by his daughter, Judith A. Hill and her husband Douglas of port Orange, FL, a son, Robert D. Sullivan, Jr. and his wife Lavonda of Largo, FL, a sister, Dorothy M. Savoy of Worcester; five grandchildren, two great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester the son of Daniel and Nettie (White) Sullivan. Robert was a WW II veteran serving in the Army Air Corp. Robert owned and operated the Worcester Roller Skating Rink located at various times on Portland St., Mechanics Hall and Southbridge St. He was also at one time a supervisor at the Worcester Parks & Recreation Dept. retiring many years ago. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching the Red Sox and Nascar.
Robert's funeral will be Thursday, June 21 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St. Entombment will be In Notre Dame Mausoleum.
