Roberto Paredes Gonzalez

Roberto Paredes Gonzalez, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at UMass Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, Roberto built a life defined by laughter, dedication, and the joy he found in simple everyday moments. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Magdalena Rivera, with whom he shared many cherished years.

Roberto found happiness in his daily routines, especially his morning trips to Savers and other favorite shops, where he never missed a chance to hunt for a good find. A talented musician, he loved to play the guitar and spent countless hours repairing and restoring them with care and craftsmanship. His mechanical skills extended far beyond music—Roberto also fixed cars for many years, earning a reputation as someone who could make almost anything run again.

Known for his humor, Roberto brought light to everyone around him. He told all kinds of jokes—some wholesome, some a little off-color—and his lively spirit created a warmth that friends and family will never forget.

Above all else, Roberto loved his family deeply. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his presence in their lives was both steady and joyful. He leaves behind his sons, Roberto and John; his daughter, Maria; his grandchildren, Alex, Axel, Natasha, Michael, Geovanni, Robert, John, Jamel, John Jr. Justin, Mark Anthony and Taisha.

Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Roberto's life with visiting hours Friday, November 21st from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd in the funeral home from 8:00am until 10:30am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St, Worcester. 

His legacy lives on in the music he played, the laughter he inspired, and the generations of loved ones who will carry his memory forward.
