WORCESTER-RONALD A. PAOLETTI
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald A. Paoletti, aged 78, who peacefully departed this world on 3/1/2025 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by love.
Ronald was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 32 years, Robin A. (Harrist) Paoletti. He also leaves behind cherished family members, including his sister-in-law Barbara Harrist and her partner, Trevon Pappas; sister-in-law Kim Harrist; and sister-in-law Shani Traum and her husband, Jonathan. He was a loving uncle to his niece Leah Goteiner-Harrist, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his family, he leaves behind dear friends and colleagues from Worcester Technical High School, where he formed lifelong bonds. He was predeceased by his devoted Shih Tzu, Bella Maria, who brought him immeasurable joy.
A lifelong learner, Ronald’s passion for knowledge began early, leading him to graduate from Cathedral High School in Springfield. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from American International College in 1968. He furthered his education with a double master’s degree in biology and education from the University of Albany in 1971. During his college years, Ronald proudly became a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, forging lifelong friendships and memories that remained dear to his heart.
Ronald’s dedication to education was unwavering. Beginning in 1968, he taught in various school systems across Colorado, Florida, and Massachusetts. His most fulfilling tenure was at Worcester Technical High School (formerly Worcester Vocational Technical High School), where he inspired and shaped the minds of countless students until his retirement in 2024. A testament to his impact, he was honored in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers for 2003-2004, a distinction made even more meaningful as he was nominated by the very students he cherished.
Beyond the classroom, Ronald was a passionate advocate for education and the environment. He was actively involved with organizations such as the Alliance for Education, Massachusetts Teachers Association, National Education Association, Greenpeace, Audubon, World Wildlife Fund, and the National Science Teachers Association. His commitment to these causes reflected his desire to make the world a better place for future generations.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Autumn Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Ronald’s final days. Their kindness and dedication provided comfort to both Ronald and his loved ones.
As we come together to honor his memory, we celebrate not only his contributions as an educator and advocate but also the warmth and kindness he extended to all who knew him. Ronald A. Paoletti will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the remarkable legacy and love he leaves behind.
