Ronald T. Cardinal, 63 of 184 Heard St., retired cook from City Hospital, died Friday, Dec. 8, after a long battle with COPD and Emphysema. He leaves his wife of 39 years, Jacqueline C. (Demarais) Cardinal, three daughters; Michelle M., wife of Kevin Gay, Charlene A., wife of the late Donald Clark and Mary E. Cardinal, three sons; Bruce J. Cardinal, Stephen J. Cardinal and Jack A. Cardinal all of Worcester, two wonderful grandsons whom he loved dearly, Patrick and Nicholas, a brother, Norbert “Norby” Cardinal of Worcester, a sister, Dorothy Kulig of Sterling, CT, two soul brothers, Kevin F. Gay of Worcester, Raymond Kershaw of NH and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister Janice LaCroix.
He was born in Worcester the son of Norbert C. and Dorothy (Shea) Cardinal, attended area schools and lived here for most of his life. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid camper, woodworker, fisherman, loved cooking and was a member of the Main South American Legion Post #341. He was a “Jack of all trades, master of none”.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 12 from 5-8 PM in CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be private.
