WORCESTER- Ronald I. Hewett, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on October 9, 2022.  

He was born in Milford on July 27, 1944, son of the late Irving “Kiddo” Hewett and Myrlene Boucher. Ronald was raised in Uxbridge and graduated from Uxbridge High School. Following graduation, he began his career in the Pathology department at St. Vincent Hospital and later worked with the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner in Boston. He was also employed with Kraft Food Company working for Nabisco. Following his retirement, Ron kept busy volunteering with the New To You Thrift Shop at St. Joseph’s Church in Leicester and it was through this that he formed a close friendship with Father Robert Loftus.  

Ronald enjoyed fishing in his free time and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed listening to music, reading, and vacationing in the White Mountains every year, but he truly cherished time spent with his loving grandchildren. He was so proud of his family and grandchildren in all of their accomplishments.  

He leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia Walsh; his three children, Sheila (Hewett) Monahan, Jennifer (Hewett) Cariglia and Christopher Hewett; eight grandchildren, Matthew Monahan, Ian Monahan, Domenic Cariglia, Noah Monahan, Nicholas Cariglia, Colin Monahan, Chloe Monahan and Sara Monahan; his siblings, Dennis Hewett and his wife, Janet, Linda Frabotta and her husband, Dick, Phyllis Hewett, Michael Hewett and Donna Hewett; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  

Besides his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his sister, Patty Sayers.  

Family and friends will celebrate his life with visiting hours on Thursday, October 13th from 5-7pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, October 14th at St. John’s Church, 44 Temple St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge. In lieu of flowers his family asks that memorial contributions be considered to St. John’s Food for the Poor Program, 44 Temple St., Worcester, MA 01604 or to the St. Joseph- St. Pius X Building Fund, 759 Main St., Leicester, MA 01524
