WEST BOYLSTON-Rosalie "Roz" A. (Malcangi) Fratantonio, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018 with her two remaining sons, George and Vincent by her side.
She was predeceased by her loving husband George Fratantonio, who was 71 years old, on July 3, 2003. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Josephine (Malcangi) Baril and Maria "Rhea" Malcangi Marusak.
Rosalie was born in Worcester daughter of Italian immigrants, Vincent and Mary (Turturro) Malcangi.She grew up in the "Glory Days of Shrewsbury Street" living on Risso Court. She enjoyed East Park, Bell Hill and her time spent with Uncle Jerry and George Turturro.
Rosalie and George both loved the outdoors and singing. Roz and George sang at school and frequently at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, where they were married.
"Roz" as she was known by her second family at Norton Company worked even into retirement. Roz worked under four presidents at Norton Company. She loved and organized the Norton/St. Gobain retirement functions.
Roz is survived by her oldest son, Georgio Fratantonio "San Georgio", Vincent Fratantonio and his wife Michelle (Lavoie) Fratantonio, and their daughers, Renee Rosario and Rachel Nicole. Her youngest son Damon died on May 5, 2013, five years ago, on the same day Rosalie died. Their birthdays October 23rd and 24th consecutively. Survived by Damon is his wife, Judy and his loving children, Victoria, Antonia and Michael Fratantonio. Roz is also survived by many nieces, nephews and one brother-in-law, Domenic Fratantonio and his wife Patricia (Booker) Fratantonio.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 16th at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street. A Celebration of Life with lite refreshments will follow at 5:30 pm at Wachusett Country Club, Prospect Street, West Boylston. A private burial will be held at a later date.
