Rose A. (Reen) Doherty, 102, of the Life Care Center of Auburn, died Thursday, Feb. 10. Her husband John J. Doherty, Sr. died in 1982.
Rose leaves her son, John J. Doherty, Jr. and his wife Eleanor F. of Auburn; two grandchildren, Joseph P. Doherty and his wife Charlene L. of Charlton and David M. Doherty and his wife Barbara V. of Reading, four great grandchildren, Christina L. Doherty, Kalliope R. Doherty, Colin P. Doherty and Demetre L. Doherty. She also leaves several close nephews and nieces and was pre-deceased by 1 brother and 4 sisters. Rose was born in Concord, NH, the daughter of James and Mary (Cahill) Reen and lived most of her life in Worcester and Auburn.
Rose lived in Worcester most of her adult life and was a member of St. Peter's Church in Worcester. She moved to Auburn in 1984 and was a member of North American Martyrs Church.
The funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn, MA. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, The Perkins School for the Blind, The Talking Book Library, 175 No. Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472. FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 9 Hammond St., Worcester is directing arrangements.
