SOUTHBRIDGE-Rose Marie (Smith) Egan, 68, passed away suddenly in her home on Saturday, November 17, 2018 just two days after her 68th birthday. She is predeceased by her parents Mary and George Smith and step father Walter Barbour.
Rose leaves behind her son, Michael P. Egan and her granddaughter, Katie of Sutton MA who was the joy of her life. Rose is also survived by her sisters, Judy Cote of Southbridge, Elizabeth Moore of Boylston MA, Robert Smith of Rochdale, George Potter of Ocala FL and Dot & Ray Belanger of Granby MA. She leaves Bryan McLeod, her 20 year partner with whom she lived. Rose also leaves her nephews Eric and Billy Cote and their children Jamie, Dean, Chynna and Graige, whom she loved greatly.
Rose was born in Hartford, CT., and spent most of her life in Worcester where she had family and many friends. Rose was a retired nurse's assistant at Worcester State Hospital who enjoyed gardening, volunteering at the local church and spending time with family. Rose was an outgoing individual who enjoyed the company of all. She always had a smile and would give her last dollar to help a friend in need. Rose could liven any room or social setting and cared deeply for people and animals, especially her cats Boots and Peanuts. Rose will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to honor, remember and celebrate Rose's life on Friday, November 23rd from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, November 24th at St. Peter's Church, 929 Main St., Worcester. Rose will be laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery alongside her mother Mary and step father Walter.
