Rose-Marie A. Scott

WORCESTER- Rose-Marie A. Scott, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the loving wife of the late John P. "Skitchy" Scott, Jr. who passed away in 1994.

She was born in Worcester on October 26, 1933 a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Cantin) Desroches. Rose was raised in Worcester and attended local schools where she graduated from the former Classical High School. She was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church and enjoyed wintering in Delray Beach, Florida.

Rose was an avid knitter, gardener, sewer and loyal viewer of the Real Housewives. She loved giving back to others by knitting and sewing for many charitable organizations including Knots of Love, CareWears, St. Vincent's Hospital, Wounded Warriors and many others.

Rose was a member of the Guild of Our Lady of Providence, First Friday Club, Red Hats Society, St. Joan of Arc Knitting Group – Delray Beach FL, Knit and Purl – Delray Beach FL, Leicester Senior Center Knitting Group, Auburn Library Knitting Group and Sisters of Assumption Knitting Group and Pernet . She was also an active member of Shaping Zone.

Rose loved her time in Delray Beach and enjoyed the beach, collecting shells, playing cards with her friends, watching the sunset on the dock and hosting her annual St. Paddy's Day party serving infamous Irish Breads.

She leaves behind many that will miss her dearly including her children, John P. Scott, III., and his girlfriend, Patricia of St. Louis, James P. Scott of New York City, Rosemary T. Scott of Worcester; her sister Claudette Marsh of Reno Nevada and her husband, Nelson; and sister-in law Mary Donahue of Worcester and her husband Robert, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews and many friends.

Besides her parents and her husband, Rose was predeceased by brothers and sisters.

Family and friends will gather to honor, remember and celebrate Rose's life on Friday, March 22nd from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, March 23rd at St. Peters Church, 929 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
