Rosella M. (Mulrain) Callahan, 81, of the Goddard House, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, in UMASS Memorial Med. Center.
Her husband of 49 years, Thomas M. Callahan died in 1999. She leaves three brothers, Thomas H. Mulrain of Holland, Richard T. Mulrain of Gansevoort, NY and John P. Mulrain of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a sister, Shirley Borowy of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, George F. Mulrain, Jr. and Paul J. Mulrain and a sister, Mabel Lafleur predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of George F. and Mabel C. (Johnson) Mulrain and graduated from South High School and Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp.
Rosella was a registered nurse for the Worcester Public Health Department and the former City Hospital. She was a member of St. Peter's Church.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Oct 8, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers,memorial donations may be made to the Massachusetts Veterans Shelter, 69 Grove St. Worcester, 01605.
