Rosemarie Cardinal

July 15, 1930 — May 30, 2022

WORCESTER- Rosemarie  E. (McCurry) Cardinal, 91, passed away May 30, 2022 after a brief illness at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. 

 

Her beloved husband of forty years, Robert L. Cardinal preceded her in 2015. She leaves three children, Richard C. Morley and his wife Virginia of Centerville, Sharon A. Morley and her husband, Robert Ilenstine of Goleta, CA and Candy M. Powers and her husband, James of Holden; three grandchildren, Christopher Morley, Ashley Powers and Patrick Powers; three great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Adian and Annabella Morley; a sister Marilyn A. Donovan of Worcester and nieces and nephews. A brother, Gerald F. McCurry predeceased her.

Rosemarie was born in Worcester, daughter of Jeremiah and Marguerite (O'Connor) McCurry and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and Salter Secretarial School. She was employed by Hahnemann Hospital where she worked in the Medical Records Department.

 

Rosemarie was a joyous person who took pride in all of her accomplishments, her greatest being her family. She enjoyed entertaining, especially on the holidays. She had a quick wit and loved music, Irish songs were her favorite. Rosemarie cherished spending summer days at her cottage and the beaches of Cape Cod. She had a passion for traveling, cooking and was an avid reader. Every morning began with a cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle. She adored her grandchildren and was a true friend to many. 

 

In her later years she lived at Tatnuck Park, where she was honored with the title of “Ambassador” and was the life of the party with her circle of friends. The family would like to extend a warm "thank you" to the staff and residents for all of their love and compassion. 

 

A Visiting Hour will be held June 6, 2022 from 9:00-10:30 am at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 W Boylston St, West Boylston, MA 01583. A funeral mass is to follow at 11am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Burial will be private in West Harwich. In memory of Rosemarie Cardinal, contributions can be made to the “One Company Fund” c/o Tatnuck Park, 340 May St. Worcester, MA 01602.
