NORTH GRAFTON-Roy Johnson of North Grafton, passed away, following a brief illness, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in his home. Roy is survived by his loving partner, Nancy Harrington, a son, Douglas Johnson, of Millbury and Lisa Johnson of Framingham. Predeceased by son, John Johnson of Framingham and former wife, Gail Johnson of Framingham also his father and mother John and Esther (Esbjornson) Johnson, brothers, John Johnson and Carl Johnson and sister, Betty (Johnson) Eunson.  

Roy was born in Concord, Massachusetts on March 19, 1931. Roy graduated from Watertown High School, Boston University and entered the U S Navy, serving in Washington, DC during the Korean War. 

Returning home, Roy worked his father’s business, sharpening saws and delivering daily to construction sites. Roy loved to fly! After building his own airplane, He became local Chapter President of The Experimental Aircraft Association. They had international fly inns to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was certified to work on aircraft, as well as fly. At a later date Roy worked for the Carpenter’s Union in the Boston Area. He has been retired for many years but loved being active. Some of his favorite hobbies were riding bikes, hiking, walking with dogs, joining groups and going on trips. He enjoyed trips and meeting new people. He was particularly proud of his Swedish heritage and still has relatives in Sweden. 

Roy will always be remembered for his kindness, love for family and friends. Always offering a helping hand to others. 

Our family would like to thank U Mass Nurses and Doctors and Hospice Care, for their compassion and support for Roy. 

Family and friends will be invited to a celebration of Life at a future date.
