Russell R. Rowell, 84, formerly of West Boylston, died Thursday, May 26, in Riverdale Gardens, West Springfield.
His wife Ruth (McCulllough) Severy Rowell predeceased him. He leaves a son, David Rowell of Leicester; a daughter, Jane Chenaille of Granby; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two nieces. A brother Everett O. Rowell, Jr., predeceased him. He was born in Braintree, son of Everett O. and Violet (Roberts) Rowell and was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

Russell retired from Ray Plastics Company and previously worked for Phalo Plastics Company for 25 years. He was a former member of the Harold N. Keith American Legion Post, %23204 and volunteered for meals on wheels in Weymouth. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

The funeral will be held Saturday, May 28, at 2:00 PM at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St. Burial will be private. A calling hour will be held Saturday, May 28, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chancel Ringers Hand Bell Choir c/o of the First Congregational Church, 26 Central St. W. Boylston, MA 01583.
