Ruth J. (Cotter) Connors 83, of 5 Olin St. died Thursday, Nov. 27, at home, after an illness.

Her husband of 50 years, Timothy B. Connors Sr. died in 1999. She leaves a son, Timothy B. Connors Jr. of Encintas, CA; a daughter, Brenda L. Connors of Truro; three grandchildren; a brother, Francis X. Cottor and a sister, Rosemary E. Naughton both of Worcester. A sister, Dorothy Collette of Worcester died in 2000. Ruth was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas F. and Teresa A. (Gannon) Cotter. She graduated from South High School, Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, Boston College and she received a master's degree in education from Worcester State College.

Ruth was a US Army Nurse and served in the European Theatre during WWII.

Ruth taught anatomy and medical techniques at Becker College and received the faculty of the year award, she then was the Director of Nursing at Westboro State Hospital for many years, before retiring. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

A Funeral will be held Monday, Dec 1, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME,1 West Boylston St., West Boylston with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Bourne National Cemetery. Calling Hours are Sunday, Nov 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
