Ruth M. (Barrett) Lemieux 86, of 139 Millbrook St. died Friday (March15) at Saint Vincent Hospital at the Worcester Medical Center after an illness.
Her husband Walter J. Lemieux died in 1986. She leaves three sons, Donald T. Lemieux of California, Walter J. Lemieux Jr. of Auburn, and Robert J. Lemieux of Ft. Lauredale, FL, three daughters, Joyce M. Lynch of Leominster, Ruth M. Johnson of Plantation, FL, and Paula M. Keating of New York, NY, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester daughter of Charles F. and Margaret A. (Murphy) Barrett.
She was a baker for the Worcester School Department for many years before retiring, previously she owned and operated the Park Ave. Fish and Chip for many years. After retirement she was a cook at the Friendly House in Worcester.
She was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church. She enjoyed Traveling and Crafts.
A Funeral will be held Tuesday (March19) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. (www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc 570 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Monday (March18) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to Saint Joan of Arc Church 570 Lincoln St. Worcester 01605
