Worcester, MA –Samuel A. Koranteng, 64, passed away Thursday December 23rd,2021. He leaves his wife Esther Koranteng, children :Frank A. Koranteng Worcester, David Ohene, ( Brothers & Sisters) Ghana, Rachel Adjei London, David Boateng Connecticut, Andrew Opoku Boateng Bernard Dankwa Koranteng, Ghana. Several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Sam was born in Suhum ,Ghana on August 10th 1957.Sam was the son of Kweku Akuoku and Ruth Okyerebea of blessed memory. He completed his GCE 'O' and 'A' Levels at Okuapeman secondary school. Sam travelled to Nigeria to work with his uncle as an Agriculture Extension Officer after school. He worked briefly as an Agric officer at the Ministry of Agric Ghana and as an Assistant Manager in the hospitality industry in Ghana.
Samuel relocated to the United States Worcester in 1996.He worked at Walmart, Stop and Shop before joining UMASS as a Lab Technician where he worked for 18years until he resigned due to some health issues.
Sam was affectionately known to his friends as "Uncle Sam". He was a devoted member at Living word Church and a founding member of MOGPA (a Christian fellowship) in Worcester MA. Sam married Esther in 1998 and they have several children.
The funeral will be held Saturday, February 19th at 8am at The Living Word Church, 30 Tyler Prentice Road followed by burial at the Notre Dame Cemetery.
