Samuel J. Poston

d. July 29, 2021

Samuel James Poston, Sr. was born in Worcester, MA on July 30, 1978 to Eugene and Sharilyn Poston, being the youngest of four. He came into this world fighting, as he kicked the nurse's hand coming out of the womb during delivery. He left this world the same way he came in, fighting an illness that finally overtook him on November 1, 2020 at the age of 42.

Sam is survived by his parents, his 3 sons: Sam Jr., 20, Davonne 16, Lucian 10 and his 2 daughters De'Aja 17 and Jenessa 8. He also leaves behind his brother Eugene, sisters Latona and Danette, along with 3 nephews and 5 nieces.

Sam was a devoted and loving father, who took immense love and pride in each of his children. He shared with them his love of music, sports, movies, video games and remote-controlled cars, spending most of his free hours with them doing these things when he was off work. Sam was known for his loyalty to family and friends. Many of his friendships he maintained from childhood through adulthood.

He spent time, playing video games, watching sports and fishing. He was very close with his immediate siblings, but had many cousins that he also regarded as his brothers and sisters. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them and he knew if he needed them, they would be right there too. Sam also shared a special relationship with his parents and always regarded them with love and respect. He enjoyed spending time "hanging out" with his father and seldomly missed the daily "date" he kept with his mother to watch Jeopardy throughout the years.

Sam will most notably be remembered for his quick-witted sarcasm and satirical commentaries, sparing no one until the whole room was doubled over laughing. He loved to cook and was infamous for stealing a family member's recipes, adding one little spice to call it "Sam's famous (recipe)," as he served it to them. His personality and humor is one that'll forever leave a lasting impact, on each of us. Sam will forever be missed!
