CHERRY VALLEY-Sarah (Perkins) O'Connor, 71, passed away on Wednesday, December 7th surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves her husband of 47 years, Stephen O'Connor; four children, Stephen O'Connor of Cherry Valley, Colum O'Connor and his wife Nikki of Holden, Michael O'Connor and his wife Karen of Bedford, NH and Mary Myotte and her husband Adam of Worcester; eleven grandchildren, Alex, Gabby, Stevie, Seamus Colum, Sarah and Michael O'Connor, Ryan Myotte, Aine and Isla O'Connor and Ben Myotte; her brother, Padraic Perkins of Galway, Ireland; her sisters, Bridie Marshall of Worcester, Mary Kierce of Walpole and Kate Hanniffy of Galway, Ireland and many nieces and nephews.
Sarah was born in Glan Transna, Lettermore, Connemara, Co. Galway, Ireland a daughter of Coleman and Mary (Connolly) Perkins. She emigrated to the United States in 1963. Sarah was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. She was a former CYC teacher at St. Peter's church and would often chaperone field trips. She was also a former softball coach at Maranville Little League. Sarah was a gentle, kind and caring woman whose main focus was on her family especially her 11 grandchildren. She would do her best not to miss any of their games, recitals or dances.
Sarah's visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 11th from 2:00 until 5:00pm at CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December12th at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
