Sheila Irene Altobelli, 79, of North Brookfield, MA passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 21, 2025, after a brief battle with breast cancer. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Sheila lived a life of love and devotion as a homemaker, dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming home.
A graduate of South High and Rocky Mountain college in Billings, MT, Sheila delighted in all things New England. She appreciated the changing of the seasons, especially cherishing the beauty of fall with the turning of the leaves, and the warmth of summer days spent with her family at the Hampton Beach Boardwalk and enjoying chowder at Captain Parker’s on Cape Cod. Her love of life’s simple joys was evident in her enthusiasm for shopping on QVC, where she became a collector of the Mackenzie Child Brand. She could also be found looking for her “treasures” while visiting the Brimfield Flea Market, the Sturbridge Shops, and at Yankee Candle where she was welcomed by name with open arms.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James G. Altobelli, their children Kimberly Altobelli of Worcester, MA and Ross Altobelli and his wife, Melissa, of Sache, TX; two brothers, David Kennedy and Daniel Kennedy; five grandchildren, Kaitlin, Briana, Sawyer, Hope, and Brooke; two great grandchildren, Zayden and Colin.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, David W. Kennedy and Louise E (Donahue) Kennedy, her brother, Dennis Kennedy, and her beloved son John Altobelli.
