WEST BOYLSTON-Sherry Ann Zawalich, born December 3rd, 1965, beloved mother, grandmother, partner, sister, and friend, passed away after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on March 31st, 2026. Throughout her journey she faced each day with strength, humor, and deep love for the people who surrounded her.

Sherry is survived by her daughters, Sherinda Trudell (husband Gaelen Hammond), Bryana Mangra (husband Dillon Mangra), and her son Brian Trudell II. She also shared many years raising her children with their father, Brian Trudell I.

Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren—Kaebrielle Hammond, B Hammond, Elliot Hammond, Boston Howard, Rowan Mangra, Rileigh Trudell, Ethan Trudell, Carter Trudell, and Bryson Trudell—whom she lovingly described as her “reasons for breathing and fighting to stay.”

Sherry shared a deep and special bond with her longtime partner, Vincent Roveto, whom she affectionately called her “hand holder” in recent years. His steady love and support were a source of comfort and strength. She treasured the time spent with Vin and his daughter, Chiara, finding joy even in the simplest moments—especially quiet nights at home watching movies together.

She is also survived by her devoted siblings, Karen Zawalich (significant other Chris Ganias) and Francis Zawalich III (wife Keri Zawalich); her sister-in-law Donna Parent (husband Paul Parent I); and her nephews Jacob Zawalich (significant other Ava Lapointe), Andrew Zawalich (significant other Kylee Amidon), Paul Parent II, and Brent Parent. She also held the memory of her nephew Tyler Zawalich close to her heart.

Sherry was predeceased by her parents, Patricia Bonnette and Francis Zawalich II.

She treasured the time she spent with her family, her many cousins, and close friends she held dear. For many years she was also a cherished member of a wonderful women’s group known as Cupcakes Anonymous led by dear friend Tina Potenti LaCroix. The group shared countless laughs, lifts, and unwavering friendship... KFG.

Sherry was deeply grateful for the love and support of Kathy, her stepmother, who accompanied her to many medical appointments and chemotherapy infusions, and for her sister Karen, who faithfully sat beside her through many long days.

She also held a special place in her heart for Jessica Toohil, whom she lovingly called her “daughter from another mother,” reflecting the deep bond they shared and the important role Jessica had always played in her life.

Sherry was blessed with a soulmate and lifelong best friend, Stephanie Benttinen, whose friendship brought her immeasurable comfort, laughter, and love throughout the various stages of her life.

Her family would also like to recognize Kristen D'Amelio, a remarkable oncology nurse who became an angel in Sherry’s journey. Sherry often spoke about Kristin’s compassion and dedication and how she was instrumental in helping her have a positive and comforting experience during her chemotherapy treatments.

With deep appreciation, the family acknowledges nurses Marsela and Hilda, and the team on UMass South 6, whose kindness, compassion, and unwavering care made a lasting difference at the end of Sherry’s journey.

Sherry cherished life’s simple joys. She loved camping, spending time in Salisbury, and visiting the ocean—especially Old Orchard Beach and Hampton Beach—where she enjoyed searching for sand dollars along the shore. She loved whole bellys or a big lobster at Markey’s, weekends with family at Stone Cow, and cheering proudly at her grandchildren’s school events, dance competitions, football games, and soccer Saturdays. She had a lifelong love of pandas and, in recent years, found joy in collecting crystals.

Above all, Sherry enjoyed simply being around those she loved. Her lasting impact will live on through the laughter of her grandchildren, the strength of her children, and the countless memories shared by all who were lucky enough to know and love her.
