Worcester-Shirley E (Dee) Arnowski, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16th, 2023.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bronislaw J. Arnowski, in 2009.

Shirley was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Aina (Soder) Dee and John Dee on October 12th, 1925.  She was a dedicated member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Worcester for many years.  In her free time she enjoyed traveling, cruising, playing cards, bingo and trying her luck at the casino.  After retiring from Sprague Electric, as a final test operator, she spent every chance she had caring for her precious grandchildren.  The most important thing to Shirley was the time she had with her family.

Shirley leaves many behind that love and will miss her deeply including her daughters, Karen Arnowski of Auburn, Debra (Arnowski) Nawn and her husband, Michael, of Auburn; her grandchildren, Andrew Nawn of Richmond, VA and Taylor Nawn of Auburn; her sister, Arlene (Dee) Castle, of Worcester.  She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and siblings, Pauline Janulewicz, Phyllis Mitti, John Dee and Maryann Johnson.

Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Shirley’s life with visiting hours on Friday, April 21st from 4pm until 7pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at 10:00am in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester.  Burial will follow in All Faith’s Cemetery, Worcester, MA

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Summit Elder Care and her Home Health Care aids, Bernice and Wally, for the loving care they provided to Shirley and their family over the years.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the memorial fund at the Emanuel Lutheran Church.
