WORCESTER- Shirley A. Barron, 73, died Saturday, May 26th after an illness. She leaves two sisters, Barbara Barron, with whom she lived and Mary E. McConville of Worcester; a niece, Kathleen "Kate" M. Sullivan and her husband David of South Grafton; two nephews, Michael T. McConville and his wife Anne of Charlton, Thomas C. McConville and his wife MaryEllen of Worcester; eight grand nephews and grand nieces, Shannon and Zachary Sullivan, Meghan, Erin, Michael and Patrick McConville, Ryan and Haley McConville. A nephew, Sean P. McConville predeceased her in 1989.
She was born in Somerville, daughter of William E. and Margaret T. (Tierney) Barron, graduated from Ascension High School and attended the Catherine Foley Ward Business School. Shirley was an audit checker for Thom McAn Shoe for 43 years retiring in 1996. She was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and the Local 170 Teamsters Union. She loved going to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun and spending time at Hampton Beach in the summer.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 30th from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 29th from 5:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home.
