Shirley Magarian

Worcester-Shirley (Mooradian) Magarian, 77, died Sunday, June 27 at the Willows. Her husband of 42 years, Harry A. Magarian passed away in 1998. She leaves two sons, Jay J. and his wife Kristen Magarian of Worcester and Jamie J. and his wife Regina Magarian of Belchertown; her brother, Gary Mooradian of Worcester; four grandchildren, Zachary, Sean, Hannah and Benjamin.

Shirley was born in Worcester the daughter of Krikor and Mirian Mooradian. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Shirley worked at the Piccadilly Pub in Westborough as a secretary and bookkeeper and at Parker Metal Corp. as a bookkeeper. She retired in 1995. Shirley and her husband owned and operated Al and Harrys Restaurant and also owned and worked together at Carvel Ice Cream on Park Avenue.

Shirley was a member of Holy Trinity Apostolic Armenian Church where she was a former member of the Church Choir. Shirley also belonged to the Armenian Renaissace Group where she served as treasurer, Shirley was a current member of the Ladies Guild of the Church and had served as a Past President.

The funeral will be on Thursday, July 1 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St with a service at 11:00 AM in Holy Trinity Apostolic Armenian Church, 635 Grove St. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 30 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. A Dahngark service will take place during the visiting hours.
