AUBURN-Shirley V. (Schwager) Schonbeck, 85 of 9 Kennen Terrace died Sunday, January 11th in St. Vincent Hospital. She leaves her husband of 68 years, Gustave E. Schonbeck; a son, Gary C. Schonbeck of Berkshire, NY; a daughter, Gayle V. Magwood of East Brookfield; 5 grandchildren, Deborah Robinson of Chicago, IL, Joanne Lavallee of Spencer, Nancy Mingolla of Auburn, Susan Garrison of Spencer, NY and Chad Schonbeck of Anchorage, AK; 5 great grandchildren, Heath and Dustin Robinson, Casey and Kolby Lavallee and Michael Mingolla; nieces and nephews. A brother, Herman C. "Bud" Schwager and 2 sisters, Doris Tuetken and Barbara Johnson predeceased her.

She was born in Auburn daughter of Herman C. and Anna (Bloom) Schwager and lived there all her life. Mrs. Schonbeck was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

A Celebration of Her Life will be Saturday, January 17th at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 35 School St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions be sent to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 35 School St., Auburn, MA 01501. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester id directing arrangements.
